Today's Christian student is expected not only do well in studies, but also learn foreign languages, work in the evenings, look good, do sports, run pages in at least two social networks, build good relationships with their family, friends and with people of the opposite sex.
That's not to mention ministry in church and (mandatory!) in CCX!
At the same time, one must maintain deep personal relationships with God and show Him in all these spheres of life. That is why this year’s theme of Salt is "Mindful Christianity in the Post-truth Era".
CCX Ukraine’s main goal is to teach students not only to maintain their faith in the whirl of their own life, but to be "light and salt" through their lives.
Fifty-five students from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, L’viv, Lutsk, Zaporizhzhya, Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Beltsy, Moldova came to SALT to explore these challenges.
On January 30, the first day of the conference, we prepared an evening of stories. Bob Grahmann, an honored guest, opened the evening. He spoke about his student years, his first missionary experience, and the start of his work at InterVarsity (American CCX), where he has worked for almost 40 years!
After his speech, seven students shared interesting stories about their life and ministry. It was a very warm and pleasant evening, in which there was a place for laughter and tears. Through the stories we could see how the Lord works in every student's life, healing wounds and calling to a great mission: to make the name of Jesus known at the university.
The evening of stories prepared us for the climax of the first day,the evening of prayer and worship. It was a time when students prayed, searched their hearts and worshiped the Lord.The first day gave a good start to the conference "Salt 2018". It prepared the participants for the main course: Bible study and thematic seminars in the next three days.

Salt, one of the primary conferences of CCX Ukraine, gathers students from all regions to teach them the Bible and applicable life issues. In 2016, Salt was focused on active rest; in 2017, on Christian views about politics and ecology.
