The end of the March in Kharkiv was marked by a special event - a one-day visit of Markus Jobe, a professor from the US, Doctor of Science, a teacher from the University of Miami and a good Christian. He has been to Ukraine before but it was the first time he was invited here by CCX to give lectures in thee Kharkiv universities - Politechnic, Law and Karazina.
The topic of the lecture was “Freedom and the Christian Influence on the Formation of the US Government”. Jobe’s vast experience allowed him to share Christian teaching on freedom at the academic level, call the students to read the Bible and build their lives upon it. All in all, the lectures were attended by 111 people, and 57 of them got interested in the Christian students movement and gave their contacts to the organizers. “The lecture drives me to self-development”, “it has changed my world-view”, “I would like to talk more on the topic” - here are just a few reviews from the grateful listeners.
But it was not the end: despite the rush and tiredness, Markus wanted to meet with the students informally at a cafe in the evening. There, in a cosy atmosphere, he was able to share more of his faith and the teaching of Jesus Christ with 3 believers and 8 non-Christian students. Later on two of those girls joined university Bible study groups. Praise God for His deeds and such devoted Christians as Dr. Markus!
