Kyiv Team Planting in the Field

On September 2 to 13, 2019, all cities where there are CCX Ukraine chapters initiated large-scale events at their universities to welcome first-year students and find Christian students to build relationships, create a team, make students aware of the existence of CCX chapters in their regions, and inform them about upcoming CCX events.

In particular, the project in Kyiv was distinguished by the fact that it was completely initiated by our students. It is this very initiative that CCX staff members seek to cultivate in students. We want them to be active, prepared to take responsibility, and organize events.

This year in Kyiv these events took place at Shevchenko National University, Kyiv National Linguistics University (KNLU) and Kyiv Polytechic Institute (KPI). The CCX students asked incoming students interesting questions, treated other students to candy and invited them to upcoming CCX Ukraine events. At Shevchenko National University, undergraduate physicists remember CCX students from last year, when the latter distributed water bottles with a Bible verse attached during Freshers’ Week.

During this year’s Freshers’ Week, CCX students organized a quest around Kyiv for the first time, organized by students in the CCX chapters. The event attracted a lot of non-Christian students. Lesya, a student at Shevchenko National University put lots of efforts into the project. As a result, CCX student-leaders have grown as active citizens and improved their skills in youth outreach. We believe that such a good start will give us more opportunities to influence students and this year will be even more productive.
